More Photographs of the Wonder of Devon

Rain, rain and more rain. Well, least it has given me a chance to paint more. Although yesterday, the sun was out and I was able to take my 'famous' walk, across the fields and far away, so without further a do, here are the photos from yesterday and a few from a few days ago too:

A couple of days ago, when the grey clouds cleared and the sun came out for an hour

Everything so green, blue and bright

Love the vapour trail - the RAF have been busy these last few days

Keeper's Marsh is the name of that field

Two lambs I met a few days ago, love the 'cat stretch'!!!

Come back sun!!!!

Getting dark and the flash comes on!

More rain to come I fear

love the contrast, from light to dark

Same - the straight lane leading to Moorhill Farm

The skies are getting good - great time of year

The start of walk yesterday - the day before a hare sat to the right of the picture, cleaning his ears, getting very wet and blown by the wind!

The cottage

My little wooden studio attached - can you make it out?

Taken from the next field, further up

Then the sun began to fade - don't worry, I did use a filter on the camera lense!

That amazing effect in the sky - a cloud prism

A painting I might do - perhaps

Walking down the side of the field and I can hear a blackbird singing in the woods!

The sunset at 5:30pm

Moon in between wires - couldn't get it in middle as I would have had to squash the crops and be told off or even shot lol!

My first Primrose of the year, one of my favourite Springtime flowers! Yay!

Someone's walked this way before - a Pheasant's footprint

Sunset, of course, and what a great one!

Pine trees in far distance against the golden sky

Bye, bye sun - please come back another day

If it was the Summer, then those clouds would be more pink!

A sad day today. A close family friend has died. I can't say anymore.

Apart from that, paintings are going well and have found out that the space/business I'll be exhibiting in is a Law firm: Art at the Red House - please bookmark it as my work will be appearing there in 6 weeks or so.

Lots of love to one and and all and I'll be back when the sun shines again!

I Thought Only Children Were Spoilt? I'm Confused Now

You Are 28% Spoiled

You're barely spoiled. You may have some nice things, but you never let them go to your head.
You appreciate each gift you're given - and you don't dwell on what you "deserve" to have.

You Are Sunrise

You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary.
You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward.
Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts.
All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be.

Your Personality is Very Rare (INFP)

Your personality type is dreamy, romantic, elegant, and expressive.

Only about 5% of all people have your personality, including 6% of all women and 4% of all men
You are Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving.

I know all this is a cheatful way to post (is cheatful even a word? Nope, as I have the new firefox version which is giving me a little dotted red line under words it doesn't understand, like firefox for example! lol) but there is nothing to report, only the weather is nasty - really high winds, it's like being on board a ship with great mighty sails, rolling in the waves and captain Jack Sparrow at the helm! ( I wish!) You know I haven't even seen the second Pirates film only because we don't have much luck with dvd players down in Devon, the first was fine until it was destroyed in a lightening storm and the one we bought to replace it was faulty, it didn't understand the dvds we put in and around 2 weeks ago 'Samsung' came and picked it up and we haven't heard anything since. Blast.

Ok folks, I know that was boring, but then I have had a hangover today and of course have done no painting, but a full weeks work starting tomorrow. I am getting a little frightened though as I've moved into bigger canvases and am fast running out of room as they're all in oil and they need a drying place. Anyone got any suggestions? The cottage walls are full up already and the outbuildings are damp, full of spiders and rats - the loft could have been a good idea, but again that's taken up by mice and long eared bats (who are actually currently hibernating, but still), I'm at a loss and have already managed to tread in blue oil paint through the cottage carpet! Whoops one might say.

Rain Is Being Rained and Paintings are Being Painted and That's A Very Bad Title

Hello all. I have not much to report since I last blogged, only my friend Andy had a great time last weekend at the cottage, the weather was terrible, as you'll see from the photos, but it was a good time nonetheless:

View from Torrington car park over the Torridge Valley

Same view to the right with the river Torridge below

Torrington church stained glass - I have a thing for stained glass - I have things for most!

Herring Gulls at Hartland Quay

Rocks below at Hartland Quay

St Morwenna and St John the Baptist Church, Morwenstow, Cornwall

Church bells still rung

Church tower & Andy taking a picture

Looking down from the cliff top, Morenstow

See you can't always see the horizon! (well, a bit of it!)

The sun came out a few miles over there!

We walked to the end of that cliff!

I've seen Grey Seals in the past, today we were accompanied by a flock of Fulmars

Andy looking the part on the cliff top!

The day after a walk across the fields in the gloom & the rain

Still beautiful though

A perfect puddle reflection!

Snowdrops in and around the badger set

One wind blasted tree - can see the gap it's left from bathroom window

And the next day (Monday) it rained again!

Sheep & lambs are used to it anyway

Love her woolly hat!!!!

For some reason the Exeter gallery contract was lost in the post to London so I phoned up the other day and the gallery manager sent me a new one, so all signed and sent and now I need to do 12-14 pieces, I have around 4 paintings good to go already but I need to do a lot more and so the good news is that I've started painting and so far so good I haven't come against any brick walls - yet. Although having not painted for so long I forget how hard it is and how much time and effort it takes just to paint one canvas let alone 14! Least I have a range of sizes to play around with and quite a few to use so I can just make a selection at the end of our stay here - which is fast approaching yet again, only 3 and a half weeks left - a lot to some, a tiny amount to me. Oh well c'est la vie!

By the way, can someone remind me never, EVER to buy European Trance from itunes! It was only £5 but boy is it lame! The first tune is fine but the rest 8 (yeah, 8) are nasty. I think my clubbing days are catching up on me, as in, I think I'm getting old as the Trance tracks I used to listen and dance like a maniac to are far, far superior to anything that is released today! Dear God, turning into one of those annoying people who preach their life away saying that music and everything was better when they were young!

Now I must love you and leave as my eyes are closing rapidly and I need my sleep to wake up tomorrow with my imagination and creative juices flowing - it has all been going too well these last few days - I'm afraid, very afraid. Help.
