No-one loves me anymore to comment. Ok, my posts can be pretty boring, sorry.
And this is going to be a short one. I've just comsumed half a bottle of fizz and 2 glasses of whiskey. My Dad and I went for a walk on the heath and we were attacked by a hundred beetles. Not very nice. We weren't the only ones, everyone was screaming and running away! We shot across that heath, faster then ever! A good time to escape to Devon then.
Night night everyone out there. Tomorrow will be pretty drunken so maybe no posting but I have loads of photos to show you all, but I never seem to get around to them. It's really hot, as in dripping hot and tonight I believe is going to be uncomfortable. Oh well.

Greetings from Sweating London
Hey everyone! I'm back! Well, it wasn't that long to be fair, but long enough for me to be away from the net! And I'm a much happier bunny then I was a few days back.
Much happier.
Much.
I had a good time at Mary's. We were very relaxed this time, no mad partying hard, almost like grown-ups in fact! The first night we went out to the Happy Man (her local pub, her second home) for the last hour or so and then last night we stayed in! Well, we had to, because I got my retail threapy in Winsor all day yesterday! I missed that in Canterbury, as I stayed all day at KIAD. The only real time where I felt ill was catching the last bus from Winsor to Egham. Mary couldn't find her ticket (one of us had to) and it took her 10 mins to find it. The driver was a complete and utter bastard and was threatening to throw us off the bus. So I tried to help her find it, but failed. So I went back to my seat to get some money to buy her another ticket (as she had no money for it) and then she found it! But he wouldn't except it. He motioned to me to show him my ticket again. He thought that I had given her mine. I was SO ANGRY and threatened to report him, while showing my ticket, shaking with anger and too many expressos at Cafe Nero! I felt the sick the whole journey back, sick and tired, those coffees did the opposite! But apart from that, I took mad pictures, chatted to her flatmate Lisa and had a really good time!
Well, the weather is lovely. Summer has now come and Devon next thursday until the last week of August! Another year of over-grown hedgerows, cows and combining. I can't wait. And then Shropshire for a week, that's when I'll be going off air but will be back with hundreds of photos and I'll keep a diary for that week, cos my memory is terrible (after heavy drug abuse - well, not that bad - at Winchester Art College a few years back - or in fact, just old age!).
Tim Henman is ALREADY out of Wimbledon. Why am I not surprised?! Plus Holland gone from the World Cup (my Mum's dutch) and she said, "Oh well, one down, another to go", but we won't be watching it as we'll be having lunch in Blackheath village with my couisan Saskia (mum's niece) for her Birthday, which is tomorrow. And we are all off to my Mum's best friend Yvonne's house to see my painting which she bought, hung up and framed in the sitting room (she still hasn't paid me yet and I've spent that money three times over already!) and then Dad and I are off to Chartwell for the day to have lunch and spend it in the garden (Winston Churchill's house) because we spent so long in the house last time, that we missed the garden and we are members of the National Trust so it's free!
And now my itunes have reached over 30gb of music, that's 3 weeks worth of music non-stop and 7999 tunes! Just one more for the 8000! I might go and browse itunes for that important one!
Oh well, such is life, mes amies and on that note of the last tune, whatever it may be, I shall leave you and come back tomorrow with crazy pics of Mary and I from the last few days.
Hope you're all well and please say hi with a comment or two!

Nightmare X 2
It was a hard night last night. I slept but I had two odd dreams/nightmares:
First one:
I was with my Mum and we were living in a large house in a large town. For some reason the house caught fire and we had to get out. The roof was alight and burning slowly, so we went back in to save stuff. I was in my room grabbing anything I could, stuffing it into bags, fluffy toys, books, photographs, anything that meant a great deal to me. It was all a great rush as I heard the timbers in the roof crack and bang, while smelling the acrid smell of smoke and feeling the intense heat above me. Then I looked down, through gaps in the floor boards and realised the sitting room had caught fire too. So I was trapped. But it didn't scare me at that point, I was so busy saving things, then I realised I wanted to save the crib board that belonged to my great Uncle Jum and that was in the sitting room. So I rushed down and into the fire stricken room, opened all the drawers, searching desprately for it. I found it eventually and then I heard a huge crack and the ceiling above me was beginning to bow from the heat of the flames. I just stood there, looking up, rooted to the spot and then it all came crashing down and I woke up in my bed, my heart pounding and sweat dripping from me. (It took me a while to get to sleep after that, but when I did. . . .)
Second one:
This time I was with my Dad and we had gone to see a famous building somewhere. It was around 500ft high and 200ft across and in order to see it properley someone had rigged up a giant swing, that went round and round the outside of the building on a cable. Something out of a fairground. There was a man controlling it from a little booth and as I had never been there before I was given a go for free, in fact, 15 gos all at the same time. At first it was fun, like being on the Big Wheel, I was flying! I was happy and then I began to feel sick. Suddenly the cables holding the swing began to feel unsafe. It was only then I noticed the cables attached to the swing, in which I was holding, was made of fabric and looked very unsafe. I was going very fast now, up and down and around and I began to shout to get me off. The more I paniced the more unstable the swing became and I felt the swing beginning to break up. At one point there was a 400 ft drop and I felt the string tug and pull and get twisted on itself. Now I was screaming in terror and no-one could hear me. Finally it all began to slow down and I was shouting, swearing, kicking out and as they lowered me to the ground the cable snapped and I fell out, luckily not very far, but it hurt. All the people that were there were shocked and standing there scratching there heads wonderering why that I happened. I was still screaming and now I was shouting,"I'll sue, I'll sue, I'll sue!!" The cheif designers came along to have a look. They were both tiny and very slim and it dawned on me, of course it would have been made out of fabric, not chain or cable, because these two people weighed less then me together. They had designed it for them. I told them saying no wonder it broke as people like myself, such as Dawn French are very fat and heavy!!!! They said sorry and tried to quieten me down with free merchandise from the gift shop, of course I was having none of that. Then the baby started crying next door in the garden and I woke up in my bed.
I still feel rotten, but I'm still going to see Mary tomorrow until Wednesday, I've asked her for a relaxing time, no rushing around or panic. Hopefully that'll be so.
So see you all later in the week some time, or perhaps when I'm with Mary, as I managed to find a computer to do this last time and if anyone knows what those dreams are all about, please leave a comment. I need to spend today quietly and get over them!
Lots of love,

KIAD
It's so hot and I'm so hot too. Hot with the sun and hot with hot flushes. I've never felt like this before, I feel faint, dizzy and I feel that I'm not here, but I'm fighting it, whatever strange thing I have because I'm going to stay with Mary on Monday for a few days and I've already let her down once.
KIAD was cool. Even though I had serious butterflies going there and high on asiprin, and luckily I didn't see the people I wanted to avoid. I spent the whole day in KIAD, seeing people, chatting to everyone and half of them didn't recognise me, said I looked different, not a bad thing, I did want that reaction. And they all seem happy, which is a good thing. And nothing has changed, still the same old building, same old people and same old Cedar (looking lovely) on the green, and the same old panic before the opening, people hurrying around getting the last things done, even building walls! Cleaning floors, yet, they were all smiling, all the students smiled at me, whoever they were, where ever they cae out from, much more relaxed then last year. All the BA's exhibiting mounted to 85. 85?! That's a BIG year! And SO much to see and all of it pretty impressive. If anyone reading this finds themselves in Canterbury, go and see the show, it's open until 10th July, an extra week open for extra people showing.
The band were great, a mix of Eastern and Western music. . . a real treat!
The MA BBQ (they made a fortune, why didn't we think of that?)
KIAD
And I even found myself standing in the Warden's flat at one point. Standing in the sitting room, remembering memories and times, now, long gone. 2 girls live there now and one is an MA and she complained about the fire alarm going off at all hours - don't I know it! The walls had been painted white and the spare bed taken away. A coffee table stood in the middle of the room, a high-fi at the side and a hat stand by the door. Vases with flowers and throws on the sofa chair and settie. You can tell 2 girls are living there! Plus the kitchen was full of people beavering away, getting ready the food for their fundraising BBQ at the opening. It brought back a lot of times to me and I felt sad that I wasn't part of it and as Sonia was cutting the vegetables I could see Linda there, Gama, Kelly and Alison, all chatting and laughing away. We all still haunt the college, twice I thought I saw Reem sitting under the cedar or Gao clowning around grinning. Tucker and Roy sitting out smoking with Fi, ready with her HUGE black sports bag to go to the gym after. John coming up to them, plugged into his mp3 player and myself sitting among them enjoying the hot weather. Oh happy days!

I Shall Go In Green
Hello, I promise no more silly Beatle questionaires! And I'm sorry for the larger pictures, thing is I can't be bothered to get rid of them, I'm that lazy.
Today I've just been getting myself together for tomorrow at KIAD. I don't know if anyone else feels like this, but you know when you haven't been back to somewhere where you haven't been a long time, that you'd like to make a good impression, that in some way you may have changed and you want to appear relaxed and self confident, that you're back and you're happy and ok? Well, that's how I feel. I've always imagined myself going back to KIAD, thin, beautiful and with a hansome man on my arm, but hey! These things never be. It's going to be the same old me, fatter then I like, boring looking (not that ugly, but still need a bit of work) and with no man in sight, apart from my Dad. That's why I NEVER went back to Winchester and now I'm going back to KIAD. But as always I keep thinking, well, this is not the end yet, I'm still going back there on the 8th Sept for the MA show, I have a little time to make myself thin and beautiful and maybe find a man, but then again, it won't happen, it NEVER happens like that, it'll just be the same old me again. . .
And there are a certain few people who I DON'T want to see, and so I'll be giving them a wide berth, a couple of tutors and a few students. Fine, I'll be civil if I have to, but that's my lot!
So I've painted my nails green, I have a green top to go over smart jeans and I have a green necklace (the same I wore for my MA show), for some reason I'm always wearing green at KIAD, it brings out the greeness in me! I'll wear my jeans for the daytime with a different top and I'm going to take a bag with my other clothes, shoes and make-up upon which I'll change into in the car in the car park! Now I need my flat back! A flat that served me and my friends so well in Canterbury, basically a stones throw from the college, as my window looked right into my head of MA's office! (I could have broken the window!)
I'm so tired today, I seem to be tired every day. I feel relaxed but still on edge for some reason, that cross-between place. Butterflies for tomorrow I feel, I'm worried about drinking as I haven't had much to drink now for a few weeks and I AM now a light weight, I just hope I won't make a fool of myself over the free wine at the opening, yes, I'm still talking about the opening!
Let us hope the sun shines!
To finish off my self pity (I noticed that too) here are some pictures taken yesterday, on my walk with my Dad, across the heath, on the longest day. The weather was strange, the wind strong and the colours of the sky stormy, but the swifts were enjoying themselves, swooping low over the heath and our heads!
The first glimpse of that cloud
Wow that cloud!
The swifts were camera shy!
Any suggestions what this shape may be?
And still that cloud
The sky was more purple then this

| Lady Madonna You scored 32 shyness, 25 bitterness, 51 moral, and 35 eccentric! | |||||||||
You are Lady Madonna! This single was a celebration of motherhood. Whether you're a parent or not, you probably are an average, mature person, just trying to make your way through this world. You have your modest pleasures, but for the most part you're occupied with responsibilities, doing the right thing, and taking care of people close to you.

Still The World's Number 1 Beatle Fan!!!!!!!!
Exhausted.
So just a linky blog today.
Exhausted mainly from that England match last night. We're not going to win anyway. It was the worst 90 mins of my life. Can you see why I hate football so? And Owen is out of the World Cup as well! We are screwed!
Mole in One A very silly game, and a rather slow one, but kind of calming as it has sounds of birds in the background! (I'm that tired)
Army screw up Yes, very funny and all that and from who's army is it? Any suggestions?
Srange things you Likely Didn't know A mish mash of facts like 'Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying (I must try that, I'll let you know. . .)
Interpret Your Dreams Funny, I wrote a whole essay about my dream yesterday and all I got were a few words to watch out for because they mean this in your life!
Wow, well, I kind of figured that already, I do know about John Lennon's life having read hundreds of biographies and books about the chap and having been a major fan of The Beatles since I was 11 (it peaked at around 17 when I had Beatlemania in EVERYTHING) But that was almost 10 years ago, it's amazing what you remember and what you forget. I'm just annoyed I only got 96%, 10 years ago I would have got 110%!!!!!!
Oh well I didn't do too bad and to tell you the truth I don't know 'The Meaning of Life' too well!
I read the biography of the Pythons (Mary gave it to me for Christmas) and I've seen the other films quite a lot, but not for a while.
Well, OBVIOUSLY!!!!!! 110% EVERY TIME!!!!!
And on that note I shall say goodbye!

I'm just annoyed I only got 96%, 10 years ago I would have got 110%!!!!!!
| French Guard You scored 64 Pythonesque! |
| Bon! You are...how you say...quite knowledgable; however, you cannot enter ze realm of true Monty Python fans yet. You know ze basics, but those obscure questions left you in deep doo-doo. I read the biography of the Pythons (Mary gave it to me for Christmas) and I've seen the other films quite a lot, but not for a while.
| You are 100% a Beatles Lyrics Master! |
| No categories here. Your percentage is simply how many you got right. Each question was worth the same amount. So, if your score is low, then I recommend listening to some more Beatles music. And classic rock in general! If your score is high, then great! Keep up the appareciation of good music. |

A Few Strange Photographs!
What is it with me and shoes? I don't ever strive out to buy them, it just happens! We went to Bluewater yesterday and I ended up with 3 new pairs, 2 sandals and a pair of canvas trainers/plimsoils type thing! Not to mention 7 books for my summer reading and a new outfit to wear for the show on Friday which I'm looking forward too so much! And then not to mention a few cds too!
Speaking of cds, I've now listened to Keane's new album 'Under the Iron Sea' quite a few times and it's brilliant! As in so good that some even made me cry! That and Coldplay's 'X&Y' which I've always wanted and got yesterday in the sale of HMV. It makes me wonder how 'we' put up with all that bad music in the world when you have something truely magical, an anthem in almost every song! So I didn't get much sleep last night, plus the fact that I successfully broke my detox good and proper last night. I did so well the whole day! My Mum also made our detox lunch before we went and took it in the freezer bag - the only downside was, as it was crispbread and humus, it kind of got really wet and it tasted like soggey cardboard! Not very nice! And then they were wroking on the railway last night too, around 3am. We saw them the other night on our walk, further up the track. So back on to the detox today until friday. I've been in touch with my friend Laury there and she said that the MA/MFA's will be there all day fundraising for their show on friday, they're cashing in with the voloume of people coming with a BBQ!
Working on the railway (18th), a rather spooky photo!

Tulip's tunnel - my cat from years ago, everytime we drove her to the cattery in Sidcup we had to go through this tunnel and she was always fascinated by the bright lights (and I'm sure a little frightened) and she used to meow! So eveytime we go under it I think of her!
And one last thing, my friend Mary doesn't hate me, she has suggested I come next mon/tue/wed which will be fine, just have to be extra careful on what I eat and drink!
Lots of love to you all,

So you never know what you're taking or how it would turn out! Going home from Bluewater on the motorway, just after sunset and taking pictures of the skies surrounding the road. I don't care if they're fuzzy and out of focus, I really like the spontaniety of them. See what you think:

Madness Comes To All Of Us In The End. . .
I think I'm going mad (hardly surprising), I'm a week behind! I had it all worked out in my head, seeing Mary next week and then Canterbury/KIAD/Laury/BA Show the following week. Well, no, that's wrong. . . The BA show is next Friday! Whoops, sorry Mary, I have sent her a text explaining my madness but she hasn't sent me anything back, so I feel she's a little upset with me! So I'm going to Canterbury next friday (23rd) only for the day and evening. As much as I'd love to stay with Laury I can't trust myself to eat only detox, there will be too many temptations! Sorry people, I'm crap, I know. But I'm doing all right on the detox. I feel much better, my skin looks clearer and I'm beginning to feel less hungry and not having too many cravings for naughty things! I just hope the head aches are going to leave me as my body gets used to the change. Plus on friday I hopefully won't be self conscious in wearing a skirt (never a dress, I don't have the legs!)
Ok, that little bit over. At the moment we can't plan anything as the football comes first. Wednesday would have been a perfect day to go up to town to the Tate or for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy, but, NO! Holland is playing. Next Tuesday again would have been a nice day to go out, but, NO! England is playing! Speaking of England, the photograph below was taken last Thursday when they were playing and I had to capture the moment!

Did anyone catch that match between USA and Italy last night? Italian's are thugs and no, not all women find them attractive. I thought the US played gallantly! (I only saw the first half by the way, ok, I do hate football, but I saw it as I felt like it! At half time my Dad and I went out for a walk, we're managing to do at least 2 miles a night, good, but nothing compared to Charles Dickens who used to walk 30 miles a night!)
And now a catch up (again), I foolishly left my camera charger in Devon and my friend in Devon kindly sent it to me and it arrived yesterday. I can't live without that charger! So these photos should have been posted when they had taken place (so if anyone's browser crashes, I'm sorry, you have been warned!)

I didn't sleep very well last night (blame the detox) and I was chatting to a friend on msn for a while, so I'm going to crash out now and read the Sunday Papers and see if there's anything I want to comment on! If there is, I'll be back, if not, then all of you enjoy the rest of the weekend. The weather is getting cooler next week, but I don't believe that, now it has reached these temperatures it has no excuse not to reach them again!

More Cows And Again, Hot Sun!
Hello all, I hope you enjoyed the cow film yesterday, so here's two more out of 12 (which I'll put on over the next few days), I was standing it seems, in the right position, and captured some real special moments of the animals making their way to the main ring. I came on it by chance and pushed myself to the front (well, I feel I had a right as I love those cows so much!) and I was so close I could have reached out and touched them (though I didn't as I'm sure you can see, some were getting a little frisky, it was so hot and there were so many people).
It's very hot today. London is sweltering in the heat and it's not even offically summer yet, I think it starts next wednesday, which, in fact, is the longest day of the year. I might be with Mary then at her Uni in Royal Holloway, but she hasn't phoned me yet to arrange it, so I might be at home. Of course I'd love to be in Devon, but you can't have everything! The week after I also might be going to KIAD to stay with Laury (MFA student. . . that's the International practise one, a two year course instead of the full time MA which is one). My mum wants to go to Canterbury for shopping and it's best if we go on a Wednesday as that's the day to see my friends there as they have their meeting on that day. The plan is that I stay a few nights so I can catch the BA private view of their degree show. Again this hasn't been arranged, only suggested.
The days are so long in London. There's no studio here for me to work, so the internet is my only fun! Oh that and Detox. Yes, I'm on the famous detox diet! And it's giving me headaches and yes, I am drinking loads of water but it makes no difference! Basically no wine, sugar, wheat, just soup, vegetables, pulses, wheat free pasta etc. It gets a little annoying especially as the weather is no nice, you feel you want to be enjoying it with nice food and nice wine!
That's all really. I have not much else to add. There's nothing on the news or in the papers that I want to comment on, it's all a little boring and I refuse to talk about dreaded football!

So Much To Catch Up On. . .
Ok the Royal Cornwall Show. Covered better in my Animal blog, but here are some photos of the day to make you all click on to my animal blog, call it a taster if you like!
Hereford Bull - What a beauty!
Holstein
Hello there!
Talking of Sue, her daughter Katie has just started her very own blog (with a little help from me to set it up) and I wondered if all who read this (Yes. . . YOU!) could go and take a look and offer encouragement. Like I was, she's a blogger virgin! So click on this, the title of her blogsite: What Katie Did Next. Thankyou!
I shall be back later on hopefully, now I need to clean up my own blog and then collapse in bed and sleep, as I'm so tired. Oh God, and it's also England playing later! Help!

It's time to go home (Bodmin Moor in background)The journey home yesterday was exhausting. Such a long journey in England's worst roads. It took us 6 hours, no fun, plus slow traffic on the M25, as always. Today in Devon the weather is beautiful, so says Sue. It's not fair, I want to be there!

Last Night Time In Devon. . . Byeeeee!!!!!!
Hey my faithful readers, I know I said I wasn't going to do this tonight, but I wanted to capture the last few hours we have left in this beautiful place, so I can look back and sigh over happier times! And the good news is that my Dad and I have persuaded my Mum to come back sooner! As long as she has time to go to Bluewater and Canterbury (Fenicks) she'll be happy! :-) Plus another reason for me doing this and in the next few weeks, as in constantly, is because of the bloody football. I've seen so many cars/vans/lorries flying the English flag and all I say to them is '!'Get a life mate'. I really do hate football, hate it, hate it, hate it! Anyone agree with me? Your comments will be much appreciated!
A sad thing happened only 30 mins ago. A female sparrow flew into the study window. Usually birds are shocked, it has happened a lot and I've always been there to pick them up and keep them warm until they feel better to fly away. This time I was there in a flash, but after a few seconds she was coughing up blood, so she had broken her neck. After a few minutes she wanted to fly away and then suddenly her little heart went dead, she died in my hands. Poor little thing. The worst news is that she has little ones in the nest box(es) that we provided. The male is constantly calling for her, he's going frantic, the chicks too. I hope he'll be able to feed them, who knows? Plus we won't be here to keep an eye on them. Typical. Well, I hope she's in heaven now, happy.
I am so tired. I did all my packing. I even sorted out my drawers and wardrobe! Plus I found my diamond ring! Something I thought had been hoovered up at Christmas time, something I thought I had lost forever and something that kept me awake at nights worrying about it, missing it and wondering how I was going to tell my folks who had bought it for me for my 21st! And where was it? Underneath manky old socks in my sock drawer in a different box from the one it should be in (I have the original, empty in London!), so, PHEW!!!!! Thank God for that! I also cleaned my studio, after 10 mins I ran screaming from my desk as a huge black house spider appeared! Then disappeared somewhere, my Dad was too late! Damn him! (whoops sorry Dad) so when I'm back in three weeks time (yes, only three!) the spider will be twice its size!!!!! And then I collasped on the sofa hugging my Mum trying to revert my eyes from the French and the Swiss! 3 football matches per day, AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
So I'll leave you all now and leave Devon with some pictures of the flowers in the garden and a new painting:
Ox-Eye Dasies, opening in their hundreds up the garden!
Yellow Water Iris on pond
Water Lilies on pond
'North 2' Acrylic & Sand on Canvas

Have You All Missed me? I've Missed All Of You
Well, here I am, I'm back! Sorry for the lack of posts these last few days, I have been enjoying the weather, posting and seeing friends. So I have a lot to catch up on, so let us start with the run down of each day of this past week:
Monday
Perfect weather. We went to see the house again in Shebbear and realised then and there that it was not for us. A lot of work needed doing and seriously it wasn't worth it. The garden was over looked on each side and the building itself needed so much work! Plus the annex was a building site and hadn't seen a lick of paint for at least 50 years! Plus the people selling, the husband was a builder and perhaps a little bit of a cowboy and rushed the jobs in the house just a bit too much.
So afterwards we went to Sheepwash for lunch to the Half Moon Inn. A famous pub once upon a time run by a man named Benji and his brother. They owned a few miles of the Torridge where people would come to stay and fish. The Torridge was the idea behind Henry James 'Tarka the Otter', he lived there, along the banks, watching wild otters and it gave him the idea of the story, now a very famous book! (the old railway line was taken up around 25 years ago and now it's called the 'Tarka trail' for walkers and cyclists. I think it's around 40 miles long, straight through the heart of the Devon countryside). Benji was a real class landlord, everything was done to perfection and the pub always packed out with locals and visitors. You could go for dinner and had to chose what you wanted to eat over the phone when you booked the table, either fish, chicken or beef. When you came you had a drink first and then the dinner gong would sound and you'd be escorted to your table in the vast dining room, where all the plates were polished and the cutlery were solid silver. Bread first, then starter, main, pudding and then cheese and biscuits and port. A real night out! Benji sold the pub around 6 years ago and of course it hasn't been the same since. The only remenant is Alan, who worked all those years for Benji behind the bar, he's still there and he remembers us. It was on the market for £2million but it couldn't sell. Sheepwash is an odd little village, a terrible thatch fire over 100 years ago destroyed most of the village, but the square with the pub was saved and thank God for it. If any of you find yourself in North Devon please go and visit and the surrounding area. It has a lovely atmosphere and all the fields look out across Dartmoor.

Tuesday
As my Dad had been so ill with a cold we hadn't been anywhere, so today was the day to go out. We thought the night before maybe Padstow in Cornwall (Rick Stein fame) or Totnes and Dartmouth. So we decided on the latter. It's a long way down, over Dartnoor to the South of Devon. The countryside gets notably hillier and the roads busier. More tourists go to the South rather then the North. There are more attractions and caravan sites! Also the petrol becomes a few pence cheaper as well! First we went to Totnes for a much needed toilet (well we had driven 40 miles non-stop) and lunch. The town is very pretty, though the high street is on a hill, ok going down though! It has a beautiful church but we couldn't go in as there was a funeral, rather a large one as well and no-one was wearing black they were all in colours! Then we went to Dartmouth, again very beautiful, with the river Dart running through both towns. It was a little colder there as the wind was blowing off the water so my Dad bought we this lovely zip up top! We were discussing whether we should stay for dinner but then it's never very fair on my Dad as he can't sit back and relax with a drink as he has to drive home. So we decided against it. On the way back we went through Dittisham and looked at the church. The lanes were very narrow there and the locals rather unfriendly in their big four by fours and tractors and didn't slow down to give us room. It was a nightmare! Then our first bout of bad luck happened. We had to pull in to the hedge to let a car go by, when this little white van overtook us at speeds hitting us on the side. It was such a shock! Luckily he stopped. What we call a middle class lout, munching on an apple.Laid back public school type in a beaten up old van with his girlfriend. Of course he apologised. What happened was that he was looking down changing his CD player and then in the last second, looked up, saw us and swerved or he would have gone straight in the back of us and it would have been a lot worse. And no-one stopped and witnessed it, I would have! He didn't even have his insurance on him and so gave my Dad his details through mouth fulls of apple. The damage isn't that bad, white paint on the drivers side bumper and side, just above the back wheel. So we'll never drive down that road again!
Back in our home stretch, the better side of Devon, so good to be back! We went to our local pub 'The Duke of York' at Iddesleigh where I met this beautiful dog who wouldn't leave my side! Someone else was whistling to him (not his owner but a stranger) for him to come but the dog ignored him and stayed with me! We had a lovely meal and it was only around 6 miles to home to Dad could drink a little! Home for bed! (only after a small glass of Blair Atthol whiskey on the garden bench!)

Wednesday
A day of Spring cleaning and again, lovely weather. My friend Katie from Dunsbeare came for the afternoon and for dinner (tea in Devon, dinner is lunch!). We were real ladies of leisure sitting outside, chatting and sunbathing. Making daisy chains and lambs tails and then wild flower book marks with sticky back plastic! Very creative! The hours past calmly by as our skin slowly burnt! Oh well, it turns brown afterwards! I've been putting on these new creams with a hint of tan in them. The only problem is that after showering it comes off so all the towels are stained brown, that and my nightie and bedding, hope it comes off!
Thursday
Up really early as an architect from Chagford was coming round. We've decided to extend the cottage and have it as our main home. Improve the conservatory, take my studio away and build out, a kitchen and on top a study and en- suite for me. Convert the loft into a bedroom and en-suite and convert the sheds into my studio (keeping a swallow loft above). We could also build over the present kitchen as a spare room for books and such things. It is possible well, only planning permission permitted. The cottage is 400 hundred years old and luckily not listed otherwise it would be impossible! It was part of the Clinton Estate (at one stage the Clintons, formally the Rolles, owned most of Devon) and it was the Gamekeepers cottage and still has the hooks in the sheds where he used to hang up the animals he had shot! The cottage is made out of cob and used to be thatched. Beautiful stone fireplaces and our very own bread oven! Surrounded by rich, fertile land, actually the best farming land in the whole of Devon. The best view is from the bathroom window, across the cow field, the woods and the view beyond, not to mention the stunning sunsets. The only down side is the small lane that runs along the side and up the garden. We only usually get local and farm traffic. The tractors are the best and not to mention the combines in August, which hardly fits the lanes. You're standing at the bathroom window brushing your teeth when the combine comes past and you're at eye level to the person driving it who always gives a cheerful wave!
But after all of that cleaning, the architect doesn't show up! He had forgotten and was in Cornwall instead. 2nd piece of bad luck! So he's how coming on Tuesday at 9pm! Not very professional is it?!
Thursday
You know I don't have a clue what happened. I think there was a shopping trip to Torrington and then Rosemoor (a lovely garden, shop and nursery). We did some gardening and I did some painting. That was it I think.
Friday
The Royal Cornwall Show with Sue. The biggest and best Agricultural Show, over 90 acres big! Packed with people. But more on that later, as in tomorrow or when we're back. I took over 200 pictures, mainly of the animals, so I need broadband!
A taster of the show, I wonder if this ram was called Jacob?!
A very hot day, how comes the bull doesn't have sunglasses too?!
Saturday
Exhausted from 8 hours of show! First England match of the World Cup (I hate football) after 60 minutes I went to bed! So tired and so sunburnt!
Sunday
Today. Mostly now spent doing this! Time of the month yet again, so will take it slowly today. Showers predicted yet sun is shining.
Oh well, that's it folks. This would have been posted earlier but the pictures are taking so long to upload! It's almost 1pm, so by the time this is prob posted it'll be around 4! Sorry.
Lots of love to everyone and I will be back to normal soon!

My friend Dog!A day of Spring cleaning and again, lovely weather.

Blue Skies and Hot Sun
Good news. As the weather is so fantastic we've decided to stay for a few more days. We were going back on Sunday, but now it's Wednesday.
I'm sorry for not blogging, been busy painting and having days out and seeing friends and even now I don't have the time for this, so I'm going to leave with a few lovely pictures taken over the last few nights. But I'll be back perhaps later on or over the next few days to tell you all more. What I can say is that we've had very bad luck over the last few days, my four-leaf clover didn't mean a thing! More about that soon, I promise! Emy x

SO HOT HOT HOT, FEELING HOT HOT HOT

Hey everyone! Before I go and sit and read in the garden here's a post of photographs taken the last few days. The weather is sublime, it's hot, not a cloud in the sky with a gentle, refreshing breeze! It's perfect and it's going to be at least 26C today, but out there at the moment I think it's a few degrees higher! And it's one of those days where if you sit in the sun for 5 mins, you burn! Plus I need to relax and take it easy as I've got sore shoulders and stiff legs from yesterday, I'll tell you more about that later! (or tomorrow).

Absent Blogging. . . Sorry!
Yes, hello, after some time, well, only a matter of days. . .
Well the weather is great, and it's about to get hotter. I gardened for most of the day in a pink, strappy top and even managed to get burnt (luckily for me my redness turns to a brown) and really, it's only 20C, but enough to burn me! It's even expected to get to 25c next week! And we'll definitely make the most of it as it's our last week in the West. . . Not fair, another month of London before we're back, of course my Mum is happy, she hates this place!
The painting stopped a few days ago, I think after a week of wet weather, I wanted to enjoy the sun but then it dawned on me tonight when I was in the studio doing some Birthday cards for my Mum (her Birthday is tomorrow) that after a hot day, in early evening the studio is warm so I could start work then (and anyway I am a night owl and I do work better at night). So that's what I'm going to do, well, not tomorrow night as I'll be getting drunk with my folks (Dad's cooking and we always polish off at least 4 bottles of wine, not to mention Champagne and Desert Wine, oh and a 'snifter' of whiskey afterwards), so I'll be drunk and in charge of a paint brush (I don't see it working out somehow, I have painted when I'm drunk and sometimes it has been fine and others? Not on your life!) and not Saturday either as I'll have a MASSIVE hangover and would rather sit in the garden and read! So Sunday!
Oh and by the way, we're all still alive! The Indian was great and we'll definitely be going back there for either a meal or a take away. We were the only ones in the small resturant upstairs and so we were personally waited on by the manager who was very sweet. As usual we order far too much and he told us that if we could finish it all he'd give us free drinks afterwards. Well we did and he did too! He kept saying that if we ever came back he would remember our faces and he was so happy he had met us. He spoke for ages about his life, family and how he came to be in Okehamptom and was very interested about us. He even thought I was 18! Erm, 8 years more mate! But hey! It was no smoking and he smoked, so he showed me where I could smoke, on the fire escape and on my last smoke he was with me too. We chatted about London and how I became to be an artist and we chatted about the moon and how beautiful it looked when it was full. He told me he only ever got 4 hours sleep at night because after he closed up shop he would go for a long starlit drive! I said that I didn't blame him! When we were going he led us down the stairs, shook my Dad's and our friend David's hand and kissed myself and my Mum on the cheek! So sweet, wow, we've made an Indian friend in Devon and it's about bloody time too!
So photographs. I think I've taken over 200 the last few days, the skies and the light has been fantastic. These pictures were taken on the first night of a clear, blue, perfect sunset. More will come over the next view days and I'll be there, ready, waiting with my camera! Same camera as last time, the Cannon. Enjoy!
